We are living in the age of intense anxiety and uncertainty, staying positive is harder than ever but i believe after every winter comes the spring. People who survive the winter and are ready to sow the seeds early in spring, they can have a wonderful garden for the rest of the year until next winter hits and they repeat the cycle of life. Unfortunately, the majority of people fail to prepare, fail to equip for better days. Below are some of the main reasons why people fail to achieve success and live a better life.
1- Lack of Effort: Most people believe that no matter how hard they try, they cannot achieve what very few have achieved. Money is not available for them or they are not as lucky as these few very successful people. Average people decide very early that it's not worth the hassle, so they never try to change the course of their miserable life. God even doesn’t help those who don’t help themselves. People fail to realize that you have a chance to succeed only if you try, failure is 100% for not trying.
“The best preparation for tomorrow is trying your best today” - H. Jackson Brown
2- Lack of Seriousness: Many people try just for the sake of trying, before they even try they usually tell themselves that, “I’m going to try once and if I fail, then it's not for me.” If you try half heartedly with making the failure bigger than winning, you don’t win. To achieve anything significant in life, not only you must try the hardest with unmatched passion, but also the utmost belief that there is no option other than winning. This is what distinguishes 5% of super successful people from 95% average followers: perseverance and a desire to win. For these super successful self-made billionaires, failure is just another step towards success. Unfortunately the average person only looks at these successful people where they are today rather than their journey before they became successful people. Every success leaves the foot print and recipe for others to follow but very few are able to see and follow those steps.
“Success is not as easy as winners make it look, nor as hard as losers make it sound.” – O.W.
3- Laziness and Procrastination: Most common ingredient of the recipe for failure is laziness. Wasting too much time in planning or talking about the plan, waiting for the right time, habit of doing work the next day or fear of other people’s opinion are some of the major reasons why so many people procrastinate. Either you are rich or poor, women or men, each one of us has 24 hrs in a day, ⅓ of the day we sleep, you have the remaining time which makes you what you are. People who respect time like the most precious asset in their possession usually get things done, rest struggle or fall behind and this attitude reflects well in their bank accounts.
“Maturity is when you stop complaining and making excuses in your life; you realize everything that happens in life is a result of the previous choice you’ve made and start making new choices to change your life.” – Roy T. Bennett
4- Lack of Belief: Every human being is born with some special gift and purpose. Lack of recognizing your talent and wasting time in doing things you are not good at, create dissatisfaction and boredom in life. You don’t achieve the highest level of productivity and success in doing things you don’t enjoy. Most people lack this belief that they have anything special in them. They are willing to live a miserable life of an average person who loves to see the world as the enemy where everything is someone else’s fault. To be successful, you need self belief and intense desire to achieve success. No one can stop you from building an incredible life when you start believing in yourself.
"You begin to fly when you let go of self-limiting beliefs and allow your mind and aspirations to rise to the greater heights”- Brian Tracy
5- Failure to Adopt: We are not put on this earth to live a stagnant life. Humans have been evolving since creation to better meet the needs of the given time. People who acquire change and let go of things which keep them stagnant enjoy the constant growth of mind and wealth. Don’t just exist. Learn to live the fullest, get out of your comfort zone, learn new technology, new ways to solve problems, challenge yourself and evolve to a greater life.
“What's Dangerous is not to evolve”- Jeff Bezos
6- Lack of Commitment and Discipline: Success is not an event but a process which requires commitment and discipline. People who have clear vision and desire to achieve success practice utmost discipline in times of frustration and challenges. No one can avoid failure in pursuit of big success, winners know how to stay the course and tackle challenges. Discipline is a habit, a practice, a philosophy, and a way of living a very successful life.
“Self Discipline is when your conscience tells you to do something and you don’t talk back”- W.K. Hope
7- No Goal or Clarity: Successful people have a clear vision, they are called visionary just because they are able to visualize their future. Average people have no written or serious goals, they don’t deem this necessary because they live their lives on a day to day basis. When you have no specific destination, your journey usually ends at a destination where you don’t want to stay. You set up lousy goals, you will be living a lousy life.
“If you don’t have your own goals and dreams, you will be working for someone who do have clear goals and dreams”- JR
8- Fear of People’s Opinion: The number one cause of failure is lack of trying due to fear of others' opinion about you. Average person may have big dreams but they fail to act just because they listen to wrong people or they care too much about other people’s opinion about themselves. One way to conquer this fear is to cultivate more self awareness and self respect. Better self image helps you gain confidence which is necessary to take risks and achieve big success.
“Everybody is going to have an opinion on you; not everyone is going to like you. You can't live your life based on other people's opinions of you or let that change what you do or how you feel about yourself, because then you're not living”- Rumer Willis
9- Fear of Failure: Fear keeps more people poor. When you let fear grow stronger then your ambitions and goals, you let go so many opportunities presented to your doorsteps. I think everyone has fear when it comes to taking risk in life but very successful people have learned how to overcome the fears.
“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently” - Henry Ford
10- Excuses Beyond your Control: A lot of people are stuck in the past, they carry so much weight and burden from past life that keeps them from moving forward. Stop playing a victim role in life, stop blaming your circumstances, your parents, your friends, teachers, politicians for your failed life. Take self control, change your life by taking massive actions. There are things and challenges in life that you don’t control. Don’t let those events bury you in the ground, rise up, gain strength and learn how to deal with those inevitable challenges.
“If you are going through hell, keep going”- Winston Churchill
Most people define success just as” Economic Success” or what material possessions you have. Money is just one part of the equation. True success is living up to your maximum potential, finding the true purpose of your very existence, quality of your relationship with your creator and your family. If you make all the money at the cost of your relationship with your God and your family, then you are still a failure.
