7 Stocks Worth Buying for Long Term

The stock market is a great way to invest and accumulate wealth over time. People who spend time researching great businesses and buy a piece of these businesses at the right time, make the most profit. The best time to buy your favorite companies is when the whole market dips significantly and the majority of people are selling due to uncertainty and fear in the market.

During good days, when everyone is buying the stocks and the market keeps going up, savvy investors are busy raising cash by taking profit so they have cash available to buy again when the market crashes. You not only need cash, but also a shopping list of some great companies that you want to buy at discount.

Below is my shopping list that I compiled for my personal use. I usually put multiple limit orders at 5-7% below market price and just wait. Sometimes, if I put 10 orders, I only catch 3-4 stocks out my 10 orders and that's OK. In the stock market, the majority of investors lose money because they don’t exercise patience and discipline. I have my way of investing which works for me; you do what suits you according to your goal and risk tolerance. In the long run, everyone makes profit if they stay in the game and buy reasonable companies. The average return in the stock market is 8% per year, if you hold it for 10 years. My goal is to make it twice as much. Please do your own research, I’m NOT a financial advisor or a stock expert, and I’m not responsible for any future losses if you buy any of these following stocks.

Below are the stocks I'm really interested in buying and holding for at least 3 yrs.

1- Docusign: Docu provides cloud-based electronic signature solutions. Its cloud based electronic signature platform helps companies and individuals securely collect information, automate data workflows and sign anything. This stock did really well due to COVID, but as the vaccine news came out, DOCU has dropped 30% or more from its high. I think this company is here to stay; the future is about signing documents electronically and docusign is the pioneer in this field and for that reason, I'm interested in buying more with any dips in future.

2- Teladoc: TDOC, is another beneficiary of COVID stay at home life. This is the biggest telemedicine stock and I don't believe it will disappear or go out of fashion in the post vaccine era. I’m a doctor myself and all my doctor friends have used it in some capacity, and they all agree that Teladoc has a very favorable future in healthcare.

3- Zoom: Zoom is “the best” stock of COVID times and it has changed the lives of so many people in this world, and this change is not temporary. Zoom will remain extremely successful, even long after COVID is gone. People who like to hold valuable stocks for a long time will benefit from rapidly growing companies that have changed the life of common people.

4- Palantir: PLTR is a brand new IPO. Palantir Technologies Inc. builds and deploys software platforms for the intelligence community in the United States to assist in counterterrorism investigations and operations. Palantir already has some massive contracts from the US government and may get some international orders from other intelligence agencies around the world.

5- PLUG Power: PLUG is a battery play in EV industry. Plug Power, Inc. provides alternative energy technology, which focuses on the design, development, commercialization, and manufacture of hydrogen and fuel cell systems. Its fuel cell system solution is designed to replace lead-acid batteries in electric material handling vehicles and industrial trucks for some distribution and manufacturing businesses.

6- Marvell Technology: 5G is the next "big thing" and MRVL provides infrastructure for 5G technology. The three best companies I like for 5G infrastructure are MRVL, Qualcomm (Qcom) and Skyworks solutions (SWKS). Any one of these should be a part of your portfolio going into the 5G era.

7- Southwest Airlines: It's hard to recommend any airlines at this time but as the vaccine becomes effective, all the airlines, cruise, and hospitality stocks will bounce back. Find the best in those sectors. Best airline I like is Southwest Air and the best cruise line is Norwegian cruise line (NCLH). Boing (BA) is another way to invest in airlines. I’m bullish on BA, it will rebound after they clear the MAX for flying once again. Another very attractive stock after vaccine is Disney (DIS). Great American companies like Disney are already doing good with the new streaming business with millions of new subscribers.

High Risk/High Reward:

I’m often asked about some cheaper, high risk/high reward stocks, and personally I don’t invest in very risky stocks but some people have different risk appetite.

Some of the best in this category are:

GE

SBE

NNDM

M

FSR

CCL.
